3. Will having a brace fitted hurt?
The fitting of a fixed brace is very easy. The Square brackets are simply glued in place after the teeth have been gently polished.
You will see us using the most up-to-date gluing technique. This visit lasts about half an hour. A few days before you come along to have your brace fitted, you will probably need a short appointment to have some small elastics (called separators) put between your back teeth. This gently moves the back teeth apart so that we can easily position metal rings round the back teeth at the visit when you have your fixed brace fitted.
